Help and Support
Welcome to the QSO Logbook help page. This website is a work-in-progress. It is not even at beta version yet; it is still only alpha. We work hard (in our spare time) to add features and fix bugs. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at dev@qsologbook.com.
Getting Started
The first thing to understand when using this website is that everything is public. This means your images and of course blog posts and your profile are all publicly visible.
After creating an account, you will be prompted to create a profile and add up to 3 call signs, which will be used when logging contacts.
While you are adding call signs to your profile, consider adding a profile and background image.
Site Navigation
The navigation bar is located at the top of the page, and provides access to the features of the website. Additionally, the profile menu provides access to your account (change email, password) and sign out.
Website Features
There are 4 primary features of QSO Logbook, each accessible from the navigation bar:
- Home/Recent Public Activity
- Profile
- Image Gallery
- Blog Posts
Home/Recent Public Activity
When logged in, the home page will show a public activity feed. Recent activity is (currently) updated daily.
Profile
The profile is where you tell the world your name and location, and optionally show a profile and/or background image. You can also add up to 3 call signs. When logging contacts, you will choose which of these call signs to use as your "de", or "from" call sign.
You can add background and avatar images to your profile. Remember, there is (currently) a limit of 15 images per profile.
We maintain license data for both USA (Amateur and GMRS) and Canada call signs, so when you add your call signs, if they are in our license databases a card will show for each of your licenses.
Logbook
The logbook is where you log radio contacts. In order to log contacts, you must have added a call sign to your profile. If you added more than one call sign to your profile, you can choose which one to use for logging.
QSO logs are currently relatively simple, only allowing for a name and location. This will change in the future, and we will be adding things like frequency or repeater, mode, power, signal reports, and even comments.
Image Gallery
The image gallery is where you upload and manage images. There is (currently) a limit of 15 images per profile.
Blog Posts
This is where you can create and manage blog posts. Blog posts are currently text-only; images will be supported in the future.
Roadmap
This website is a spare-time labor of love, built by 3 radio enthusiasts. Some of the features we are working on include:
- Net logging
- More detailed QSO logs
- Direct messaging
- Image support in blog posts
- Custom (ad-hoc) profile cards
